🌐 About the Development Communication Project (DCP)

In today’s digital age, effective communication plays a pivotal role in shaping public perception, creating awareness, and garnering support for development initiatives. The Development Communication Project, initiated under the Ministry of Planning, Development & Special Initiatives, aims to:

📌 Current Openings

We are currently hiring for the following positions under the Project Pay Scale (PPS) system. These roles are available on a contract basis and offer competitive compensation, a dynamic work culture, and the opportunity to work at the national level on projects that truly matter.

1. Communication Strategist (PPS-09)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead integrated communication strategies for development projects.
  • Liaise with media, government bodies, and civil society to build narratives around national development goals.
  • Oversee multi-platform campaign execution, including print, digital, and broadcast media.
  • Provide expert advice on public outreach and stakeholder engagement.

Ideal Candidate:

  • A Master’s degree in Mass Communication, Public Policy, Development Studies, or related fields.
  • 7-10 years of experience in strategic communication, preferably in government, media, or development sectors.
  • Excellent writing, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

2. Editor / Publications Specialist (PPS-09)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the planning, drafting, editing, and production of publications, reports, brochures, and policy briefs.
  • Ensure quality control, consistency, and alignment with the Ministry’s development messaging.
  • Work with content writers, designers, and translators to deliver high-quality communication materials.

Ideal Candidate:

  • A Master’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or a relevant discipline.
  • Proven editorial experience (minimum 7 years), with a strong command of English and Urdu.
  • Familiarity with publishing standards and development-related content.

3. Media Specialist / Program Officer (PPS-08)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop media outreach plans and maintain relationships with journalists, editors, and media houses.
  • Monitor media coverage and analyze public sentiment on development policies.
  • Organize press conferences, briefings, and media tours.

Ideal Candidate:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mass Communication, Media Studies, or Public Relations.
  • At least 5 years of professional media handling experience.
  • Strong understanding of traditional and digital media platforms in Pakistan.

4. Manager Admin & Finance (PPS-08)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee budgeting, financial planning, procurement, and administrative operations.
  • Ensure compliance with government financial and HR policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of expenditures and support internal audits.

Ideal Candidate:

  • A Master’s in Finance, Business Administration, or Public Administration.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in administrative and financial management.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, financial software, and government reporting protocols.

5. Creative Content Writer (PPS-08)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop engaging content for websites, press releases, social media, scripts, reports, and campaigns.
  • Translate complex policy and development jargon into accessible language for public understanding.
  • Collaborate with communication strategists, designers, and editors.

Ideal Candidate:

  • A degree in Journalism, English Literature, Mass Communication, or Creative Writing.
  • At least 3-5 years of writing experience in a professional setting.
  • Strong command over content writing in both English and Urdu.

6. Graphic Designer (PPS-07)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design promotional materials including infographics, reports, presentations, social media visuals, and publications.
  • Ensure consistency in branding and visual identity.
  • Collaborate closely with content creators and campaign managers.

Ideal Candidate:

  • A degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • A creative portfolio demonstrating expertise in visual storytelling and design for development topics.

7. Computer Operator (PPS-06)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide IT and technical support to project staff.
  • Maintain data entry systems, documentation, and digital records.
  • Assist in managing communication hardware and software tools.

Ideal Candidate:

  • A diploma or degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a relevant position.
  • Good typing speed, familiarity with MS Office, and basic troubleshooting skills.
